About Alan Boor

Alan Boor BSc (Hon)

Alan has over 40 years experience in engineering. As a time-served Electronic technician apprentice with AEI Power Semiconductors, he has real hands on electrical, electronic, and control experience that is a valuable source of Knowledge to the industry. Also an engineer by training, but a salesman by choice, with a technical degree. (BSc (Hons) Degree. Control engineering, HNC in Electrical Engineering, and City and Guilds Certificate in Industrial Electronics Technician level 5)

Following his apprenticeship, and a ten year period in the Steel industry starting on the Instruments mechanics bench to a Graduate control Engineer, Alan obtained a wealth of practical experience in real world control systems and applications. From High Voltage motor control on the rolling mills, to miniature servo drives for instrumentation recorders, and virtually everything in-between, before moving into a number of sale roles in the instrumentation, power semiconductor and sensor industries.

The move to Sensortronic and Powertronic expanded his knowledge to encompass the feedback systems, with Unitronics PLC`s, and the like, required to complete the drive system.On the demise of Powertronic and Sensortronic, Alan, together with the Steve and John, realised that they could capitalise on the synergy of their collective knowledge in motors, drives, and control systems, and formed the new company:
