Württembergische Elektromotoren GmbH, or WEG for short, who AllDrives & Controls is proud to represent in the United Kingdom, manufactures precision drive solutions between 40 watts and 1100 watts. WEG performance, matched to the application demand, results in the greatest energy savings.
In keeping with WEG`s Corporate environmental philosophy WEG has taken the avant-garde step to develop and launched high efficiency 4 pole motors in the 50 W to 370 W power range.
This high efficiency range has been achieved by optimising the motor design and is believed to be the first sub-750 watt energy-saving motors to comply with the Premium-Efficiency IE3 standard.
Although not required to comply with the IE3 regulations below 750 watt, which come into force in January 2017, WEG`s customers and suppliers value and support the fact that WEG`s use of precious resources, striking a good balance between costs and the environment, is an integral part of WEG`s corporate philosophy.
The Eta-Plus range of drives will reassure design and system integrator engineers that their applications are not only system efficient, but fully fit for the future and use minimal resources.
WEG has two series under the name “Eta-Plus”. The SD range without fans for 50 to 250 W and the VD range with fans for 90 to 370 W.
Compared with standard motors of the same output power in the market, the Eta-Plus motors are 33% more efficient, require up to 25 % less electrical power enabling users to enjoy lower operating costs, resulting in greater efficiency paybacks after a short operating period.
WEG Eta Plus Motors C02 Efficient
In addition to the financial rewards from using WEG Eta Plus motors, the investment can attract carbon credits by producing less CO2.
All “Eta-Plus” 4 pole three-phase motors can be combined with the wide range of WEG gear units of various designs and ratios to produce tailored drive solutions.
The fresh, dynamic blue livery and smooth external shape, thanks to the optimised motor layout, distinguishes them from the well-known WEG drives.
The Eta Plus motors feature a temperature monitor integrated in the stator coil so that thermal management can be maintained during operation.
With no need for cooling fins, annoying edges or protrusions, the Eta Plus range are perfect for applications in clean area industries.
The smooth housing surface without any troublesome edges and the IP protection class, make it difficult for dirt and bacteria to build up. As a result, the energy-saving motors can easily be cleaned with the rest of the equipment. The three-phase asynchronous motors provide the ideal solutions in all application areas where cleaning is done using water and detergents. This applies to all Clean Industries: beverages, bio-chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, photo-voltaic, electronics, medical, and are suitable for use in applications with stringent hygiene and cleanliness requirements.
General
WEG motors are manufactured and tested according to the VDE 0530 Part 1 standard. This corresponds to the European standard EN 60034-1 and the international standard IEC 60034-1.
